Insert Fields After

When the Append All control is not selected and a number is entered in the Add Fields box, a corresponding number of Insert Fields After boxes are displayed.

The Add Fields tool can display a maximum of 10 Insert Fields After boxes.

When the Check button is clicked, the positional values (if any) entered in the Insert Fields After boxes are retrieved and internally evaluated.

Internal evaluation of the positional Insert Fields After box values proceeds as follows:

The first box (if any) that contains a number greater than 0 is identified. (See Note below.)
- All empty boxes before this are internally assigned a positional value of 0. That is, they are each treated as signifying that a field is to be inserted after field 0 - i.e. the field is to be prepended.
- All empty boxes after this are treated as signifying that a field is to be appended.
Each box that contains a number greater than the number of fields identified in a line is treated as signifying that a field should be appended.

Note

If a number of Insert Fields After boxes are displayed and they are all empty, the Add Fields tool considers this as equivalent to having the Append All control selected when a subsequent Check is performed.
